Sicilia Wine Dinner | October 16

Tavernetta Vail invites you to an intimate dinner celebrating Italy’s largest and most diverse island. This evening, we explore a singular culture shaped by centuries of Greek, Roman, Moorish, and Spanish influence and a cuisine that reflects not only the bounty of the Mediterranean Sea but abundant produce and vibrant, unique ingredients like mint, saffron, capers, pistachio, and citrus. 

The multi-course tasting menu features wine pairings that speak to Sicily's most exciting regions with a special focus on Mount Etna. Here, amidst eruptions, smoke, and fireworks, a handful of committed producers have transformed a severe landscape of lava flows and gnarled, forgotten vines into some of the most electric, compelling wines in Italy today. We will be pouring benchmark bottles from visionary producers including Benanti, COS, Maugeri, Tenuta delle Terre Nere, and Passopisciaro.
