But in just two decades, the Rivetti family of La Spinetta rewrote that timeline. From producing no red wine at all, they rose to become one of the most respected names in Barbaresco, Barolo, and Italian wine as a whole.

It started in 1997, when Giorgio Rivetti released his first single-vineyard nebbiolo—a wine that broke with tradition. Rich, aromatic, and lush, they were drinkable from the start. Critics raved. Collectors took notice. Some purists hesitated. Could these wines age? Decades later, the answer is clear: beautifully.

We’ll be joined by La Spinetta’s U.S. Brand Ambassador, Fabio Longano, for an intimate wine dinner at Tavernetta Vail. Expect a menu inspired by the classics of Piemonte and a guided tour through the wines that have made La Spinetta a modern legend. We’ll pour current releases and rare, cellared bottlings of their cru Barolo and Barbaresco—wines that prove how vision, skill, and bold choices can change the course of a region.
